  • Objective: To advance students' leadership and professional expertise in cultural publications, creatively intersecting real-world career functions with artificial intelligence (AI) competencies. Fellows will develop essential skills in managing cultural research, producing creative and engaging content, and utilizing AI tools to optimize communication and outreach.


Fellows in this role will be assigned to project opportunities based on their skills, department needs, and current organizational goals.

Responsibilities vary by specific assignment within the department but may include:


  • Strategic Management and Oversight:
  • Oversee the blog’s content strategy to reflect community insights, safety perceptions, and cultural impacts.
  • Lead the execution of blog, podcast, technical writing, and multimedia projects focused on cultural impact and aligning with SafeStride’s mission.
  • Research and Data Collection:
  • Conduct comprehensive qualitative research, including interviews and field research to capture relevant community and cultural themes.
  • Gather data and stories for narrative-driven content that emphasizes community engagement.
  • Content Development and Production:
  • Ensure the production of high-quality content that captures community experiences and the cultural impact of SafeStride’s initiatives.
  • Collaborate across roles to represent research findings accurately and coherently with SafeStride’s branding.
  • Multimedia and Design Collaboration:
  • Facilitate partnerships with the Publication and Multimedia departments to create dynamic, multimedia content that complements narrative-driven research.
  • Work with design teams to ensure that publications are visually appealing and align with SafeStride’s aesthetic and cultural messaging.
  • Academic and Professional Engagement:
  • Drive the recognition and dissemination of research findings within both academic and non-academic circles.
  • Foster relationships with universities and academic journals to enhance SafeStride’s visibility and engagement strategies.
  • Project Coordination and Leadership:
  • Oversee the development of materials for cultural engagement and community outreach, guiding the creation of community-focused publications.
  • Department-Wide A.I. Integration:
  • Use AI tools like Crimson Hexagon and Google Cloud Natural Language to analyze cultural data, spot trends, and customize content for varied audiences.


**Our fellowships are eligible for academic credit towards specific degree programs (3 credit hours = 120 internship hours completed). Eligibility varies by individual and degree program, so please specify degree program details when applying to ensure you meet the requirements.
